Thomas has taken a lot of volume out of the board making it into a performance board, still leaving enough under the chest for ease of paddling and entry speed.
The rear of the board has a pronounced pivot point with a pulled it tail which gives you both the speed down the line and the ability to go as vertical as you would only expect from a performance board.
The high performance rails and concave bottom contours are specifically designed to give you plenty of speed through your turns as well as carrying you over flat sections.
The Pill can be ridden as either a quad or tri fin set up.

- SLX EPOXY TECHNOLOGY
SLX construction produces a controlled flex pattern by combining the versatility of epoxy materials with the added advantage of reduced weight. All SLX boards have an EPS core with a high-grade timber stringer, which is laminated by hand using epoxy resign, biaxial fiberglass and a specialized construction process.
Featuring a high strength-to-weigh ratio, and designs CNC milled directly from the shapers files. SLX boards feel light, responsive and are very sensitive under your feet. These boards are extremely versatile, easy to ride, and can be used in wide variety of conditions. You can find out more about GSI's surfboard construction on our surfboard technologies page

Eric from NY, USA says:
Just got the pill 5'11 and surfed it 3 days straight and I am hooked. The single most amazing board I have ever ridden, loose, fast, easy to paddle, and I can't be sure, but I think it loves me. Mr. Meyerhoffer, you shape on hell of a board.
AngelB from CA, USA says:
The Pill is one addicting board! It enters the wave fast and easy like a fish. But it is more nimble and lighter than my thruster. It is definitely the one board to pack as it rides great in all conditions from small dribblers to head high. Having the option of going as a tri-fin or quad insures that you won’t be the sitting duck in the lineup.
Greg from CA, USA says:
I got the Pill a couple of weeks ago thru Alex and Val Surf Valley Village. Since, I have ridden it on several different breaks from South Bay to Ventura...conditions from crappy to epic...1ft to about double overhead. Now when I wake up and get ready to go to the beach in the morning, I make sure I take my Pill. No matter how I feel or the conditions are, with the Pill all is good to great. At some huge El Porto I was able to muscle thru some ugly beach break to find some bombing death tubes(ones you know are closing and eating you up) from chest high to almost double overhead high. On a whim I jumped in the water at Sunset with the longboarders and snagged several waves, easy rider types from bewildered long boarders who had no idea how I could catch waves around them with such a short board(5'8"). At 3rd Pt Malibu I was easily connecting sections finishing several waves close to 1st point...generally Malibu has to break ideally for this...not when you take your PiLL:D I hit many lesser known spots...ankle high to knee is a blast-who knew:)...knee to chest with its speed and easy turning...I was smiling big...chest and bigger it holds up without leaving you feeling like you want your other board beneath you.
Lucas Meyers from CA, USA says:
I spent the better half of the last 2 weeks in the water. Despite the occasional crowd (@ carrillo, etc.) new board plain makes everything makable, everything desired owned. My board is so good that gear is irrelevant, which is as I see it a supreme compliment. Thanks again and happy new year -lucas
Rick Franks from CA, USA says:
Hey Thomas, I'm a local guy from Pacifica with quiver of Al Merrick boards in my garage. I recently bought a "Pill" and I'm super happy with it. It's truly the best of both worlds! Catches waves easy and races across the flat sections life a fish, but goes vertical and cuts back like a high performance short board. I just wanted to give you some positive feedback. Keep up the good work, Rick Franks
